When I started my Freedom Fund a few years ago, the direction was simple:

To build a low-maintenance portfolio that pays me steady dividends regardless of what season I am in life.

My goal?

  • To have the choice to take a step back from work when my family requires more care and attention someday.
  • To have the freedom to pursue my curiosity without the burden of cashflow.
  • To be a mental buffer in a career full of uncertainties as a content creator.

2025 Freedom Fund Recap

Here are some interesting highlights from 2025:

  • Stock market dip in March – April: Added heavily when the market tanked due to Trump’s tariff announcement.
  • USD dropped 10% against MYR (from RM4.50 to RM4.05 by year end): This impacted me, as the majority of my holdings pay dividends in USD.
  • That said, upon conversion, my yearly dividend income still grew to RM8,420 in 2025, a 18% growth compared to 2024 (RM7,135):

Low maintenance + Monthly Dividend Income

Most dividend portfolios pay quarterly, so you might see spikes in payout every few months.

On the other hand, I designed my Freedom Fund to have a steady monthly payout. Visually, you can see how my dividend income has spread more smoothly in the last 4 years:
